Leicester Cathedral is a working Church of England Cathedral at the heart of the City and County. Since Norman Times the site has evolved and enlarged undergoing major restoration in the 19th century. It is now listed as a Grade 1 building.

The building is a first class educational resource particularly for younger children who may find larger cathedrals rather overwhelming. Details of possible educational visits can be found by clicking here.

There are various chapels, some interesting windows, a memorial slab for King Richard III and a fine Bishop's throne. Online guides covering the key features and history of the Cathedral can be found by clicking here.

Adult groups can enjoy a historical tour of Leicester Cathedral which can be tailored to suit your own requirements, lasting on average about one hour. There is a small charge made. Details can be found by clicking here.

The Cathedral is sited in Peacock Lane, Leicester, within the Castle Park area - close to the Guildhall, Roman Forum and Costume Museum.

The Cathedral is open from 7am to 5pm on Sundays and from 8am to 6pm from Monday to Saturday. Entrance is free, but all donations are appreciated.
