The site of the Cathedral has been a place of worship since Norman times and each year it attracts over 25,000 of visitors. Whatever your reason for coming we want to make you feel welcome. This section contains information about what there is to do and see, and practical advice on how to make the most of your visit. We take great pride in our Cathedral and all that it has to offer. We look forward to welcoming you.

Leicester Cathedral has charitable status and does not receive any funding from the state to remain in operation 364 days a year. The day to day operation of the Cathedral costs in the region of £1620 per day without taking into account essential restoration and maintenance projects that must also be funded to preserve this great icon for generations to come. As such we rely heavily upon the generosity of our visitors, fundraising bodies and Cathedral Benefactors to help us generate the income required to complete our work. There are various options available for those who wish to help us financially from leaving memorial gestures or a gift in your will to becoming a Friend of Leicester Cathedral.
