Volunteering

Visit us

Are you retired or between jobs? Are you looking to develop marketable skills and gain experience for a new career? Do you have a few hours or more to give each week or month? Do you have professional skills that are currently unused? Do you want to meet new people in a dynamic and friendly community? Or do you simply want to give something back?

Leicester Cathedral receives over 25,000 visitors a year, ranging from passing residents who stop to enjoy our tranquility, to school children on visits, to pilgrims in tour groups. Many people in our Community and Diocese willingly offer their time to make the Cathedral a welcoming and memorable place to visit and worship in, and a centre for the civic and religious life of Leicester and Leicestershire. Working alongside our clergy and paid staff, volunteers enable us to make the most of this wonderful place and to share it - its story and buildings – with many thousands of people.

We have a wide range of fulfilling opportunities to suit your interests, your skills, and the time you have available. Some of the activities for which we are always in need of talented and enthusiastic volunteers are listed below:

On occasion, volunteers are also needed for specific roles. These will be listed here:

There are currently no roles listed.

We would love to hear from anyone that is interested in volunteering at Leicester Cathedral:

All you have to do is to send us an e-mail at CathedralVolunteering@LecCofE.org.

Please be aware that for some volunteering roles we may requires a CV, references or, where appropriate, a CRB check. We do not normally allow anyone under the age of 13 to volunteer at Leicester Cathedral, and volunteers under the age of 16 will require parental consent.
