chaliceOur Life & Work

The Cathedral's chief role is the daily worship of God and the prayerful support of the work of the Diocese, but as any other church community, it ministers in the local and wider community, especially contributing to the work of the Diocese in areas which are specific to its gifts and complement the diocesan mission and ministry.

As the seat of the Bishop and a centre of worship and mission at the heart of the Diocese of Leicestershire we are called to use this context to live and proclaim the love of God, so that all people may find their fulfilment, with joy, within a community of those who recognise and respond to the creative purpose of God.

Leicester Cathedral offers a warm welcome and hospitality to all who visit providing a place of community, learning, contemplation and quiet reflection.
