Leicester Cathedral Choir – Japan Tour 2005

Day 3 - Saturday 15th October

The weather in the mountains was low cloud and rain, it was also quite warm and humid.

Breakfast came as a bit of a surprise with lettuce, shredded cabbage, seaweed, squid and unusually for Japan, brussels sprouts (we suspect that the chef had cooked them especially for us!), all presumably on the menu which of course we couldn't read.  Rice and "rice gruel" were available from a "Rice Corner" as well as sweet bread rolls and more western delicacies like cornflakes.

Breakfast at the National Youth Nature Centre

After practising we boarded the coach to Toyama for the first engagement of the day - singing for the residents of the old peoples' home

We moved on to Toyama City Hall for lunch,

followed by preparation for the evening's concert

The younger members of the group let off steam in Castle Park followed by a visit to the shops during which it rained heavily. Improvised rain hats were the order of the day.
